The radiation-induced glabrous mutant, gl, was found by Inggamer and de Ponti (1) to be allelic to a spontaneous mutant with similar phenotype. Two additional glabrous mutants, derived from different M2 families after seed treatment with thermal neutron radiation, were crossed with gl and + plants to test for allelism. In each case, the hybrids were normal when crossed with + and glabrous when crossed with gl. Thus, two more mutations have been found to occur at the gl locus.
